Rhizome plant
Description
The Plant is part of the Convallaria majalis is a herbaceous perennial
plant that forms extensive colonies by spreading underground stems called rhizomes. With new upright shoots formed at the ends of stoloms.
It is a subterranean stem (plant) that send out its roots and shoots from its extensions underground. This Rhizome can also be called creeping
rootstalks and rootstocks.
Rhizome plant is a fast-growing, invasive, perennial plant that can
spread quickly to form a carpet of foliage that will crowd out other vigorous plants
around it.
Main impacts
Fight against climate change
Produces sugar
Produces oil for medicinal purpose
Main causes May establish from seed, but usually arrives via rhizomes from neighboring sites, or root fragments
Timing Rhizomes and roots persist year-round

The plant
The plant spreads by rhizomes, it can easily creep in from a neighboring area to another. It can also be unknowingly introduced through its seeds or roots.
The Rhizome Plant can be separated into pieces,
each piece can shoot and produce a new plant. The plant uses the rhizome to
store nutrients. These nutrients become useful for the plant when new shoots
must be formed. This is a process known as vegetative
reproduction and is used by farmers
to propagate certain plants. Some rhizomes which are used directly in cooking
include ginger and others.
The origine of the Rhizome plant is the forest. Studied and domesticated, the plant survived
at the back-yard of Yaounde the capital of Cameroon and later experienced in
the North-West region where it is perfectly doing well.
The plant is generally unaffected by drought conditions. Its roots chains from the first germinated
leaf to another, which extend and produce other shoots. The roots has no end.
New shoot
A bedrock obstructed this Rhizome beneath the surface. On this picture, it has demonstrated its
resistance by resurfacing in search of new shoots and invasion.
Seasons nor droughts does not affect growth of the plants. It quickly spreads into every where no matter the obstacles. It is a plant of multi-environment.
New shoots from rhizomes
The seed of this Rhizome Plant germinated 12 months after it was
sowed. The multi impact ever green plant of the wild forest of Cameroon expands
round the clock and in an invasive manner.
